Parker and My Pickles & Ice Cream Quilt Top

Just thought I would post Parker's Baptism announcements. I figured since I sent them out earlier this week I could post it on my blog. He's pretty excited and so are we.

And TA DA! I finished the Pickles & Ice Cream quilt top, now I need to sandwich it all together and bind it. I think it turned out really cute. I think I love it, I just didn't love all the squares. Let's just say I will never do this pattern again. But I loved the end result. It's not perfect but I don't think Addison will mind.

The Last One!

We had are quilt class last night and this is the block we made. I really like the look of this block and it was pretty easy to put together. Now I have to throw on some sashings and sew the top together. I'm excited to see it all in one piece. And this next picture is a quilt that I am making right now. It's called Pickles & Ice Cream, I fell in love with it while I was pregnant with Addison (the name of the quilt is fitting don't you think?) and I am basically making it to see if I can do it. Does that make any sense? I am trying to keep the colors the same as the picture, I hope it turns out. I'll keep you posted. And I am posting these pictures only because I had to capture the brief fleeting moment that just goes to show me that my kiddies can get along. And I thought it captures their personalities pretty darn well. I tried to get Jentry in the photo but he would have nothing to do with it. He's already like those boys at a youth dance you know, the wall watchers....

Yes There's More

I know your all SICK & TIRED of seeing my sad quilt blocks but I figure since my others are on here I might as well finish. Don't mind my stray treads all over my block. We only have one more block to make next Tuesday and then we get to put them all together. Should be fun. I hope....
I just noticed this little funny, but my quilt blocks oddly match my blog.
I'm such a freak.

Opps! I Did It Again & Again....

Yup I tried my hand at quilting yet again & may I add not too successfully either. This block for some reason or another DID NOT LIKE ME. The seam ripper and I became one, as I kept sewing my triangles on the wrong way. But I persevered and finished the dang thing. I can see this little sampler quilt in my head and in there it's pretty dang cute. Then I look at all the blocks I have finished and I'm not so sure of her survival rate. As of right now she's in ICU and may need staples to keep her together when she is finished. I'll keep you posted and let you know of any change. :)
On another note, as you may have noticed I have yet again changed the look & name of my blog. I am really just trying to find something that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE and will keep for a while. Who knew "trying" to change the look of ones blog would be this hard. Do I leave paper on the sides and white in the middle? Do I go all white & just have my header at the top? (thank goodness for my tester blog) Sigh.....Anyway, I apologize for changing it so often. One of these days I will get it right. A friend of mine told me that if I keep this blog name of "Made with love and glue" I had better get busy and post more of my crafty self. So if I get to where you haven't seen a craft pouring out of me for some time, just yell at me and I'll try to get busy again. Well, duty calls in the form of smallish people.

I Am Still Alive

I know some of you are wondering where the heck is she? I really have just not had much to say lately. Plus, I wasn't about to post more boring stuff about me or my kids just to post something for the day, not only do I think it's boring but you may think so as well. So I have been waiting for something interesting to post about & here it is.
My latest and greatest quilt blocks!
These didn't turn out perfect, but heck I'm surprised they turned out at all. Melissa's for some reason always turn out better than mine. And Melissa is like the quilt block queen, I have never watched anyone punch out these blocks as fast as she does. She has a secret I just know it... :) Maybe if I didn't sit and talk/goof off so much I would get some done faster too. Hmm.. it's a thought.
We are getting close to the end of this class & it has been fun getting out of the house for 2 hrs every Tuesday and spending time with friends. Nothing like some away time from the kiddos to help recharge your batteries.

Okay I know this really wasn't that interesting, but I was getting guff from a couple of friends for not posting. Sorry I'll try to be better.... Really.

Quilt Blocks 2 & 3

Here are my blocks from our Tuesday quilt class. Melissa came over last night and we finally put together the Log Cabin block. So far I am liking the Log Cabin block best. I may use it in all 4 corners of her quilt. The other square is called True Lover's Knot. I think it looks like flooring vinyl. Not my favorite but I learned something new I suppose. I need to square them up but that will have to wait until our next class as I don't have the huge 12x12 square. 3 squares down 3 more to learn!

WHY YES! I AM QUILTING!

My 76 yr old bud called me this afternoon and invited me to "crash" their quilting class that they are having in their ward, & I though why the heck not, so I quickly ran downtown to Quilt Therapy and bought enough fabric to make a cute quilt for Addison. I always make a quilt for my babies, but didn't have time to make one for her because of all the construction and such, so I am making up for it and learning a little bit of Quilting 101 as I go. These pictures are terrible maybe I can get better ones tomorrow. But for now these will have to do. The colors of this fabric is so darn cute, brown, pinks, robins egg blue, yellow, and green. You gotta love MODA fabric.
And SUMMER, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the yummy homemade doughnuts, they were ever so tasty and very thoughtful of you two. Your so sweet! :)
