{ Cabin Or House? You Decide..... }

This is a "Hunting Cabin" that is currently being built not too far from where we live. I use the word "Cabin" loosely as this is an 8,000 ft. structure. But considering the size of the owners residential home in California this would be a cabin to them as their home over in the land of the sun is H.U.G.E.... Lloyd installed some cork flooring in their exercise room and said that we HAD to come see this house.
So enter a little road trip to the Cabin/House in the woods.

I'm pretty sure I will never in my lifetime know what this kind of money is like, but it sure was fun to go and see it in real life.
My Excursion looks so small next to this house!

I love the rock pattern they used on the Garage.
These are the Garage doors. There are 3 of these beauties. I tried to get pictures of the inside of the house but it was just too dang dark. But trust me it's C.O.O.L.
Would you look at this view!
Yeah, I'm pretty sure I could live with this if I had too :)

Well my dryer just buzzed so I guess I better get back to reality.
Sure was fun while it lasted though.

{Could This Post Be More Random?}

Well again I find that I really have nothing to blog about. For the past month now All and I mean ALL 5 of my kids have been sick and I'm not joking... In fact Jentry had to come home from school yesterday because he was feeling sick to his stomach and true to form for this Flu that has been lingering in our home far too long, the flu won and he is home again today, all this on top of severe colds.
(this is what the flu looks like around midnight, he's so going to hate this picture)

Corbin is hacking up his last lung as is Parker, Brinley & Addison. I think they may be getting a little better thanks to the Nebulizer that has been smoking away for days.

I have not been able to work on my little project for my friend Ellen. But I did finish up an Etsy order for my stick people for a family of 8, and I'm working on another right now for a family of 4. I guess I'm getting some stuff done just not enough, I feel like I'm barely hanging on.
 This is me last night tired & with some very red eye's might I add. Why is it that the only pictures that are taken of me are taken by me?...... What's up with that! Don't mind the fat face, I'm working on it.

Okay on to more Randomness, enter the play panels (aka before the ick). I won the fabric town panel from Quilt Taffy (thanks:) and on the other side is a train scene (which I purchased) & then I sewed the 2 together and can I just say it was worth every penny!
He loves them and so do I, they take up no room at all and it travels ever so nicely. Plus the fact that it can entertain for HOURS a total A+ in my book! Hopefully my little man will be back to his fun little self soon and I can see more of this.
I don't know if they still carry these little panels but if you can find them and your little guy likes to play with cars and trains I say buy them you'll be glad you did!
Then my mailman who I now (sorry Lloyd) :) brought me some fun mail today. While all this sick has been going on, I felt the need to buy something, so I hopped on Amazon and bought this book.
Yeah I know it's so Cliche', but I love it! Every time we go to eat at my cousin Donna's house she makes the best food and every time she tells me she got the recipe from this book. So I decided it was time for me to buy it.
So a little research, a debit card and $13.99 later I'm the proud owner of a book that will tell me the secrets to all things Jell-O!
Okay the sick are calling my name, must run! ;)
I promise to post more about nothing later!
I know, I know you can hardly wait!

{2009}

Well 2009 has started off with a bang!
We got another 8 inches of snow (now it's raining) then this morning at 4:30 a.m. Parker informed me that he felt like he was going to puke, and he did I guess he ate too much junk food last night :)
Then at 6:10 a.m. our power went out, it was only out maybe an hour so it wasn't too bad. But when I got up this morning I had this gnawing feeling that if this is how the new year is going to start off whats the rest of the year going to be like? Should be a fun ride.
Now I need to do some flight of the bumble bee packing, we are headed to my parents today, my cousin Sarah who I took engagement pics for a while back is having her wedding reception in Tri-Cities so off we go!
Should be a fun quick trip. We'll be back on Saturday only to have Lloyd turn around on Sunday & leave me for 4 days while he goes to Texas for work stuff. Should be a flaming good time being a single mom of 5 and all..... Anyway I'll be back later!

Hope everyone had a great New Years Eve last night! Happy 2009!

Ps. The Christmas tree got "put down" on December 29th. May she rest in peace. ;)

{I'm So Behind!}

Yes I'm still alive, and really I have been meaning to blog but everyday it would just get pushed aside to all the other things that have been going on.
I have managed to squeak in a little holiday decorating in between finishing up Etsy orders, doing day care, taking care of 3 sick kids, dealing with a 1 yr old that didn't fare to well with her last round of shots and is now cutting her last 2 molars (aka little miss cranky pants who's running fevers and wants to be held all day) church callings, running on little to no sleep and well the list could go on but I digress.....
So here's a sneak peek of La' Christmas tree this year, we are going with a Santa Clause theme. It's looking cute but I'm frankly running out of steam and it's not even Christmas yet. Thanks goodness most of my shopping is done. :)

These Ice Cream Cookies came about as I was making cookies for FHE and decided to throw some ice cream in the middle and all I can say is YUM-O!!! Especially with nice fresh baked cookies..
Just let them cool and plop some ice cream in the middle and your all set, the kids wanted 2nd's and 3rd's but we figured 1 was good. We have had these 2 times in the last week.. I know my thighs will be screaming at me come the end of this holiday season.
Here is the recipe I use for Chocolate Chip Cookies it makes a ton and they are frankly the best CC Cookies I have ever found. :) Enjoy
Side note: I used my medium Pampered Chef Scoop for these cookies they were nice and big!

Rachel's Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup shortening
1 cup butter
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
5 cups flour
1 pack chocolate chips

Combine all wet ingredients in Kitchen Aid and mix well.
Add dry ingredients and chocolate chips.
Bake at 350 for about 8-10 minutes.
This recipe makes a large batch o' cookies.
I use my small pampered chef ice cream scoop to put the cookies on the cookie sheet (but I don't level off the dough hope that makes sense). They make the perfect size cookie not too big - not too small.
I pull these out of the oven when they are lightly browned around the bottom of the cookie. And since every oven bakes different you may have to bake a little less or more. Just keep an eye on them cause even slightly over baking them will make them way too crunchy.
:)Enjoy

And stay tuned as I have enlisted the help of my Husband in revamping our TV hutch, okay really he will be doing most of it, but I'll be the painter... I'll tell you that it involves replacing the screen door with an old door that I got for free. Hopefully it will for the most part done within the next few days..... No pressure Lloyd! ;) I'll post pics for sure! I just hope it looks like it does in my head!
Oh and can I just tell you how excited I am for Mama Mia to be coming out on DVD on the 16th! Hello early Christmas present to me!!!

{Nope Not A Craft Post}

Sorry no fun craft idea today but I have been doing this instead.......................

I just started this morning at 7:30 doing daycare for 1 little girl (I'm so not a morning person) Her name is Ruby she's almost 2 and she is a cute little thing. She's basically been the perfect child today she has not cried once plus she ate a good lunch (she's a picky eater) and now she's napping for at least another hour (she sleeps from 1:00-4:00 or 4:30), so I'm sure tomorrow will be different. I really didn't want to do daycare but I figure the $500.00 a month will help out with some bills and getting some stuff paid off. ;)

 I could never go to work outside the home as the 2 kids I would have to put in daycare would basically eat my check. So here I am at home trying to help earn a little cash to help out the hubster.
Plus I snuck in a little power nap this afternoon, that never happens!

Well I need to go find an old shirt why you ask? Well I found on a blog this afternoon the cutest turkey shirt idea, using an old shirt and one of the kids hand outline. Genius this woman is! Hopefully I'll get it made this evening that is if I can get my craft mojo on, right now I'm still in semi coma sleep mode. Boy I hope this post made sense..... Later!

{Well..........}

The movie surprised me, I liked it better than I thought I would. I have to admit that I went in with low expectations because when I saw the movie trailers on TV I found the acting to be a bit cheesy. But now having watched it I would totally watch it again & I will be watching the movies to follow. :) I mean don't get me wrong I still found a few parts in the show where it was just a little cheese but it was still good, so if ya love the Twilight books go and watch the movie I give it a thumbs up!
And speaking of movies, they showed the preview for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Looks like it's going to be a good one! I know I say it every time but I just love me some good movies!
I do have one question though why do some parents think it's okay to bring their 18 month old toddlers to 12:00 am movies that last a little over 2 hrs? Seriously it's called a sitter, look into it. People are STRANGE! And I felt bad for that little girl you can tell she just wanted her bed.
Well I better get my sorry butt in bed it's way late & I'm rambling plus the kids don't seem to care if I've had a late night, they still require care and feeding, why is that? :) J/K
