{ Wool Felt Ball Garlands For Sale }

I've started a little side business for myself. Well, actually it's so I can help contribute to our family of 8's finances.
We would LOVE to get out of debt and build a home of our own. So Felt balls is what I'm doing right now and I so hope and pray that it takes off. I/we really need this to work. I will be selling 100% Wool Felt Ball Garlands and some holiday banners as well.

{ Valentines 2015 }

We made quick and easy Valentines this year for school.

Addison wanted gum, Corbin whoopee cushions.

{ Crafts From Christmas Past - Well, Last Years... }

I'm so going backwards here on the ol' blog. Please bear with me. :)

 Last year I had the bug to start crafting again, well I also was looking for a little extra Christmas cash. Mind you this was before I found I was pregnant with Ledger. So I asked my sweet friends if I could join them in their Christmas craft bazaar they have every year in their home and they said YES! Love you Penny & Sharae. So I popped online where I got a bit of inspiration (don't we all) from all the banners I've seen on Pinterest & Etsy and forged ahead and made some of my own. I also made 5 Ruffle Aprons, like the ones I made for teacher gifts a couple years back. I had already sold one to a friend who wanted a custom one made with Owl fabric for her mother as a Christmas gift. The aprons are totally inspired by Meg Duerksen she's pretty much awesome and so is her blog if you don't know who she is, you should really check her out! Someday I will go to one of her Craft Weekends.... Someday. Okay, Focus Rachel!

The day of the bazaar was good, I was totally BEYOND FREAKING out inside as I had just found out I was pregnant 2 day's prior on the 5th (insert denial here). I didn't breathe a word of my shocking secret to anyone and just tried to pretend like everything was all good and fine. I sold 2 aprons and 1 cardboard banner. I know, not the greatest in sales but it's okay, at that point I could have cared less if I sold anything. I ended up gifting an apron to my mamma for Christmas and the other hangs in my closet. After the sale I went home and added a white border along the bottom of the Merry Banner and LOVED it so much more maybe they would have sold better had they had a bit more "bling" to them. I may do it to the rest of them and try to sell them along with the lone apron. So there you have it, my ONLY crafts for Christmas last year.:)

{ Teacher Gifts 2013 - Part 2 }

Okay here are the rest of the Teacher Gifts that I did this year.

The Ruffle Apron's I've been making, are totally inspired by the Whatever Blog by Meg Duerksen. I've been an avid reader of her blog forever and am totally in love with her style and her craft weekends! I've seen hundreds of ruffled aprons, but her mix of fabrics just makes me want to craft!

This is the apron I made for Corbin's Teacher, 

I so so so love how it turned out.

This one I already posted about, but here it is again. I made this one for Addison's Teacher.

Brinley had a male Teacher this year, and one of his most favorite things is Beef Jerky. 

So I cut out a quick cardboard frame and printed out the note, then adhered it all to some manly scrapbook paper. Then, I stapled it to the package of Jerky.

He loved it!

We are into the full swing of summer vacation, in fact I have 8 kids at my house at this very moment. My friend Brooke is on her way home from The Farm Chicks Show and her booth did AMAZING, so I'm having her kiddo's over for the day.

PS. i miss school and all our fabulous teacher so much already.

{ Ruffled Apron For The Teacher- Part 1 }

I made this apron for Addison's preschool teacher Miss Sharae.
i think it turned out really cute!

now, i need to get mr. corbin's apron made for his teacher. 

this is our last week of school and it's gonna be a busy one!

{ Year End Teacher's Gifts- In Process }

yup that's right, my kids last day of school is on May 31st. so i am getting a jump on teacher gifts. 

i only have to make 2 gifts, the 3rd is a male teacher and his will be store bought. 

my other 2 kids have too many teachers to "make stuff" for so, i think i will make them a simple thank you with some chocolate attached. everyone likes chocolate right?

 i will post when they are all done. i sure hope they turn out cute.

{ Christmas Craft }

I had a few minutes to whip up a Christmas craft and this is the one that my Friend Nanette and I choose to do.

WE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!

Seriously, this was the easiest thing to make and looks totally amazing when you're done.

Items used:

Foam Board

Cheap-o foam paint brush

Black Craft Paint for foam board edges

Print made at local Copy place.

We made the 16x20 size. 

 Seriously, this would make a great last minute gift for someone. 

I gave one to Addison's Pre-School Teacher and she loved it.

I have another Christmas Craft that I will be making this week, but I cannot post about them yet as they will be Christmas Gifts.

 But I promise to share after deliveries have been made.

{ ARG! To The Pirate Party! }

Here is the invitation I made for Corbin's Birthday.

Corbin had picked out these on etsy, but we were running out of time trying to convo back and forth with our 3 hour time difference and I had to get these done asap. 

So, I did a little more looking around on Etsy and found the kit. 
(Pirate kit was found via another Invitation seller's Etsy shop, 
she stated what kit she used and where it could be purchased from.)

So, 1.5 hours later in Photoshop (i know i am slow) 

I had whipped up a very similar version based on her super cute layout.

Now to figure out the cake, goodie bags, games, and, and, and......

{ Super Saturday Crafts }

I was asked to help again with Super Saturday this year, I've been struggling with what craft I should do. 

Here is the first craft I though about doing: Round 1

Then, I went through all the steps and decided that sewing was never going to happen on my watch while teaching a SS class. 

(I'd rather give birth naturally to a 9lb baby (i should know i have done it 2 times) 

Then I moved onto these 2 crafts from this Etsy Store: Round 2

But, sadly time wasn't on my side, nor the shipping prices for 6 sample pieces (3 of each, unfinished) now, if I were only ordering 1 piece I would have been golden. 

So, I decided to move onto the simpler side of things. 
Round 3- ding, ding.

I loved this Temple Silhouette from the first time I saw it, and decided, hey we could make this!

 I've been reading Clarendone Lane for a while now. This gal has such great style and her home decor is awesome, she also has an Etsy shop, so if you want to order a Salt Lake Temple Silhouette you can order them from her Etsy Store.

I pretty much went for more of a "use year round" type of craft, instead of going so holiday. The Big Boss's wanted more of a gift type craft so that's what they are getting.

{ Mom, I Mustache You A Question. }

Well, my brood came home from school yesterday and happily they had a great day! All I can say is phew, & thank goodness, I was a little nervous for them. More for Jentry, being it was his first day in High School (man I'm getting old).

As I was cleaning up the dishes from dinner last night, Corbin informed me that he needed to take a water bottle to school.
 He then sweetly asked me if I could buy one at the store with his name on it. 
I told him yes, 
All the while knowing there was no such thing.  

So what's a Mom to do? 
I dusted off my Cricut/Vinyl and cut out a hat, mustache & of course his name.
I think it turned out pretty cute MANLY and I'm sure NO ONE in his class will have one like it.

Please don't mind the water spots, I washed it out before I made it all fabulous.

I so love this, and it took maybe 15 minutes to do. 
There's nothing sweeter then a quick easy craft I tell you. 
Okay, sure it's manly but it's also freaking cute... I had to say it.

I am slightly stoked for him to see it in the a.m.

I just ♥ this sweet boy of mine.

{ Shamrock Banner }

Made 2 of these the other day with my friend Nan while the girls were at pre-school. 

Super simple and totally on the cheap.

Items Needed:

Glittered Shamrocks- Dollar Tree

Book- Thrift store (used same book HERE)

Buttons- My own stash

Jute rope- Wal-Mart

Paper Cutter or just use Scissors.

Hot Glue Gun

Stapler- I used my Tim Hotz Tiny Attacher (seriously my favorite craft stapler)

I cut our Pennants 8.75 x 4.5, also we threaded our buttons.

Glue the shamrocks to your pennants, then glue on the button. 
Fold the top edge over the Jute rope and staple. Easy Peasy.

{ A Valentine's Rewind }

Here's a little bit of what we've been up to over the month of February, brace yourself for picture overload.

I love Pinterest... Sometimes too much. :) 

  I took 3 of my favorite Pinterest Valentine's Day finds and combined them into one Love Day banner.

All 3 of the above crafts can be found on my Pinterest Happy Heart Day Board. 
You can find my Pinterest over on the right hand side of my blog above ABOUT ME.
I went to the thrift store and bought a 50 cent book, as well as some 25 cent sewing patterns.

 Used the book for the pennants and hearts, stapled those together.

Used my Sizzix Big Shot to cut out the flowers from the sewing patterns & some red tissue paper. 

Used washi tape on the hearts, punched a hole.

 Strung it all on Bakers Twine. Done!

I made one for me, my mom and Addison's awesome Pre-School Teacher.

 Then I helped Brinley with her Valentine's Mail Box for School.

 Ipad printable was free and the link is on my Pinterest Happy Heart Day Board. 

We made 32 Sour Cream Containers filled with treats for her classmates & teachers. 

I also made 8 for Addison's pre-school class as well.

Instead of taking candy, Corbin took these awesome little treats.

I bought 5 dollars worth of glow sticks from Dollar Tree, and the 

Star War's printable were FREE

Then on Single Awareness Day aka Valentines Day,

 I made Cookies.

Phew, am I glad Valentines day is over....

Oh, did I mention that we made benches for our dining room table right before Valentines day? 

Can I just say FINALLY! I've been wanting benches for so long.

{ Thankful Banner }

I made this cute little Damask Lettered Banner today, I do love it, and think I might be making many more for a couple Christmas bazaars. 

I've been going non stop lately - hence my lack of blogging. 

With 2 kids birthday's, Halloween, running kids to and from school, errands, church stuff, wrestling (my son, not me :) & the everyday life of being a mom of 5 it's been a bit nuts. 

I feel like I'm running a race where I'm falling further and further behind everyone else. So I took a little time out today for me, to make this thankful banner. 

I needed it.

It also gave me time to think about all the things I am thankful for.

My thanks to Nanette for pushing me to craft. 

Everyone needs a Nanette in their life I tell ya.

Can I just say I'm so ready for this weekend. 

The menfolk in my house will be leaving this afternoon to go Deer Hunting, they already set up camp last night and will be going up after school gets out.

(Shh, don't tell but I pray they don't get anything, oh wait did I say that out loud?)

So while the men are away, we girlies & our friends will be staying home where we will be watching movies and eating unhealthy amounts of caramel popcorn, all while making some cute new crafts. 

Now to choose what to make. 

Well, at least a version of it that is. And thanks to Pinterest I've got way too many choices. Here's what I'm trying to decide between.
