{ Ask & Ye Shall Receive! }

We talked about putting in a new pantry on the 1st and my husband went and bought the supplies on the 2nd and look what I have today! We have never had a pantry so having one now is a luxury in this old farm house. I need to go shopping for a new (used but new to us) door. We put the old one back on but I think it needs a change. Don't mind some of the pictures it was late and dark.
Our "front" door to our home is sadly enough in the laundry room. Talk about airing your dirty laundry when people come to visit!
And in the laundry room there are 2 doors, one that leads to the dining room/living room which is just to the left of the door shown & this door which leads to the kitchen.
We NEVER use the kitchen door so we decided it was time to put that space to use.
So enter our first project of 2010!
Framing is done!

Sheetrock!

And we have a pantry. We still have to put up some base moulding but I'm so excited about my new space. I love my handy husband!!
I have to say this is the best 100 bucks we ever spent!
Now I get to tear down the rest of the wall paper in the laundry room and then the kitchen (which I've already started if you can see that in the pic). Should make for a fun spring huh!? It's going to be the year of the inexpensive remodel. Don't worry I'll keep you in the loop of how things are progressing.. ;) Well, I better get back to finishing up Brinley's baptism stuff.

{Husband+Trimwork=Fabulous}

I'm not sure how it happened, but having a hole in my laundry room floor & wall (which have been repaired) turned into a little mini bathroom makeover. Oh wait I do know, he said "hey since this wall is open lets move the outlet in the bathroom to where you want it". Like we didn't already have enough unfinished projects around here already, but here is a sneak peek at the trim that is going above the mirror that we decided to redo since we moved the outlet. :) It's like a freaking tidal wave the projects just keep on a comin'.

We will be framing the mirror in hopefully tomorrow or the next day (cross fingers here). And then the bathroom will look fab! I guess it pays to have a handy husband who is even more handy at listening to his wife's trim taste and the ability to use pneumatic tools like a pro. And you will never guess what color I will be painting this trim. :) He used 3 trims, one of them was a scrap piece from when he made the fluted trim for the living room. Don't mind the primer paint job. And yes I know, I have no nails. My french tips have gone by the wayside along with all my skinny size 7 jeans.

Proof that I am trying to work around a baby. This is why it takes me 300 yrs to get things done. Well that and my 4 other kids.
Oh and if your wondering what ever happened to my TV hutch that got painted black. Well she's still here looking all distressed and fabulous, but I am looking like crazy for some cute fabric to put behind the screen door. It's a small town with NO Jo-Ann's just a wally world and a couple quilt stores. So you don't get to see her until she gets her clothes on. I couldn't show her in the nude that would be rude!

{ We Have Carpet People! }

Well the carpet is in and so are we.
I will take pictures later AFTER I have everything moved around where I want it.
But it is so nice finally to be in our new room, and to have ROOM to move around is the best part. Oh and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my closet.
This is the first closet we have had. It's super fab to be able to have shelves for my shoes even if I have taken over some of Lloyd's shoe space. :) Hello the man owns 4 pairs of shoes & I am a certified shoe-a-holic so I need the space. Oh and we have storage above our clothes...sigh..it's a good thing.
Anyway I know it's weird to be all twitter patted about stuff like this but when you live in farm house as old as our is this is complete luxury!

{ Goodbye Primer-Hello Paint! }

Well the paint is up! Can I tell you how sick and tired we are of PAINTING!
We had a painting fiasco where they couldn't mix the same color twice.
Long story and I won't get into it.
We used the same color as our dining room but of course it looks much different in our new room than it does in the DR.
But hey it's painted and now we are ready for carpet!
I'm so glad my hubby knows how to do all this stuff himself.
Hopefully we will get to move into our new room this weekend (I'm keeping my fingers crossed) that is after I attend a craft show tomorrow morning!

{ It's Getting There! }

Well It's Saturday and Lloyd is actually home working on OUR back bedroom! It's hard to tell from the pictures, but the texture is all done and now Lloyd is putting up the trim work. Then we can spray primer the whole room,Yeah!!!
More Pictures to come.
