{ Maybe It's The Weather..... }

Do you ever feel like the above photo?
I feel this way today, are you sure it isn't Monday?

So far today I've had 1 continuous whiny 3.5 yr old that speaks Whinese fluently, if only I did.

1 sweet 8 month old baby who's diaper decided not to hold and got all over my left leg and all over the baby. This same baby is also not feeling so hot as she is teething and is letting me know about it.

I ran outside for a minute and lucky us, we've had a mama bird nesting right on our porch and she is making a MESS! And when I say mess I mean poop, yes more poop and it's everywhere. If she and her 2 babies don't get a move on quick they will be getting evicted.
Yup, I'm to that point.

Then I made lunch for the kiddos
my 6 yr old ate all of his, my 3.5 yr old decided she didn't like anything I made her even though it was what she wanted. And yes she spoke Whinese the entire meal.

So I clean up lunch and go grab the little bowl of ranch and guess what? It slips from my fingers and goes all down my right leg and clean jeans mind you, right along with the kitchen floor & rug.

Okay this is the point in the program where I stop and count to 168.......

I tell the kids it's time for naps, then my 3.5 yr old tells me over & over that she isn't happy and that she doesn't like me anymore.
FINE BY ME!
Yes this is how I said it in my head.

I manage to get 2 kids down for naps, I called in the other babysitter I like to call her Sony, she is entertaining the 6 yr old with Star Wars episode II and I finally got to take a much needed shower even if it was after 1:00 pm.
I was going to get dressed but decided what's the point. So I've crawled into a clean pair of PJ's instead.
I don't plan on going anywhere today.
I'm afraid if I do something else will go wrong.

There is hope on the horizon, I have the day off tomorrow and I know that for the rest of the week things have to get better.

Edited: I know it's stupid to complain about little things like this when there are so many other people going through so much worse. But sometimes you just have to get it off your chest and say it.

And you know what... I'm feeling better already.

  3. If I were in La Grande I'd bring over chicken salads from Denny's and we'd watch some more Friends to help you out with your crappy (pun intended) day.

I miss you and need to call you soon!

PS - I LOVED your "fine by me"...anytime I watch Friends I think of (and miss horribly!) you!

  4. My 4 1/2 year old speaks "WHINESE" fluently as well. It must be the weather. Repeat 10 times (or more if needed) "I love my job. I love my job. I love my job." Then lock yourself in the bathroom until someone is screaming in pain and you are forced to come out. Just kidding. Only do it if you have to. Not really. But maybe on days like this. :)

Hope tomorrow is a better day!

  7. You're right, sometimes vocalizes it helps more than anything else. It's good to know to that other people are in the same boat :)

  9. Reminds me of my favorite quote:
"In the end, everything will be fine.
If it's not fine...it's not the end yet."

  10. Wow I Totally understand. I have two girls and even though they are 9 and 10 they still go thru the whiny times and the times where I cook exactly what they ask for then they refuse to eat it. I hope that this week is going better.

  11. These are the kind of days that make you want to crawl into bed and hide under the covers. I hope it's gotten better.

  12. I've been looking all over for a Whinese language conversion book. Maybe I will try google.

We had the messy mama bird in our lean-to last summer. I ended up hanging a dollar store umbrella from a nail next to her nest to catch the nasty (because she was hitting the tractor with amazing accuracy and my husband was threatening to eliminate her). After the babies flew away we took the nest down and put some nails up so she wouldn't come back.... sounds like she moved to your place.

Thanks for making me laugh today.

  14. I've never been on your blog before, but I saw something that brought me to it on FB. I just want to say that I have whiny 3.5 year old in my house too, and by golly, I hope this whiny stage goes by quickly! She is the youngest of my 5 kids and I am pretty sure at least the first 3 were not this stubborn... but they were stubborn too. Her sister that is 7 has been giving me a go since her toddler stage too, and I hope this time it doesn't last as long as it has with my 7 year old.. but then, maybe it's because I have a 12, 13 and 16 year old and they whine much less, so I might have forgotten how they were when they were 3... just venting a long with you...
