English Ironstone, Some Wingback & Sheer Cuteness!

On Tuesday I took some of our un-used still good stuff to our church's free market that we have every year. And since I was there I figured I would have a look around & see what needed to come home with me.
Well ladies take a look at this box of FREE GOODIES! And being the decorator wanna be that I am, I snagged her up and brought her home. I also found some English Chippendale bowls and small plates. Lets just say it was a good day & I kid you not, I had to do a double take when I saw that it was a full box of stonewear sitting before me. I have to thank the modern man for the invention of pantie liners otherwise I would have peed my pants. Well not really, although I would have done my happy dance but I didn't want the old woman who was next to me to have a heart attack while watching me do my full body heave dance. See that tag on the bowls, someone tried to sell it at a yard sale- 5 bucks for the set & NO ONE bought them. What were they thinking?
So they took them to the free market,
I thank them because free is a very good price.
I also snagged the little platter & those cuppy white thingy's, I know I probably don't deserve them if I don't know what they are called. And here is the piece of furniture that I promised I would introduce you all to. I purchased her while up in Tri-Cities last weekend. I do love me a wing back chair & have always wanted one. I found ol' butterfly brown at Value Village for $14.99. I am going to get her reupholstered because that brown butterfly lovin' the 70's motif just isn't for me. Right now she's vacationing at my mom's (car was packed to the gills). So I'll have her coming out party when she's all pretty. I'm on the hunt for the perfect fabric right now. Any ideas on what fabric pattern I should be looking for?
I want her to look flipping fabulous & timeless! She's so curvy and pretty... So much potential in this chair.I know these next pictures have nothing to do with decor but they sure dress up Addison's cute little feet. Thank you Wal-Mart and my used to be 10 dollar bill! These would make the cutest baby shower gift! I'm just saying..Okay that's all for now, have I bored you enough with all my pictures and sad late night commentary? :)

  6. Oh my gosh, what great finds! Lucky girl! That chair is stunning. I would cover it with a houndstooth print, but I don't know what to tell you to cover it with. I'm sure you'll think of something gorgeous!

  7. I wanna go shoppin with you! Holy moly you did good!

I was going to suggest houndstooth too, like Chris above me. Or a muted paisley. By that I mean nothing too bright.

Can't wait to see her all done!

  14. That is so funny! On Toby and I's first trip together to the coast he insisted we shop at value village. It was his favorite store at the time. You can really find some great stuff there. Good luck with the decorating. Just a hunch,BLACK? Cute shoes for a cute little girl. I wish you would have told me about the free event, I would have loved to get rid of all my stuff! Have a great weekend!

  16. Oh I'm warning you now! If you find that those dishes have disappeared in the middle of the night, I cannot be blamed! It would be your fault for showing me that you have Johnson Bros and Meakin dishes. Those dishes need to come play in my cabinet with my dishes.
All I can say is you are one very lucky gal!!! If I would have been at the free market there would have been an all out brawl and I would have had to have been restrained!

Yes, I know I have an unhealthy addiction to English ironstone.

  19. My heart skipped a beat (or maybe two!) when I saw what you got for free. You are a lucky son of a gun!!! I got lucky a few weeks ago when I got some Ironstone plates at Goodwill for about $2. So, mine was pretty close to free. I can't wait to see the chair transformation. And your daughter's shoes - too cute for words!

  23. I love, love, love the dishes. I would have loved it if you brought them to me and put them in my cupboard, but I have to admit, I can't find a good deal anywhere because I see stuff and think "I don't need anything". But those are so awesome. I even like the chair. I would have turned my nose up at first not even thinking about recovering it. (I wouldn't have time) You do have a nack for decorating so give yourself more credit. I think everything you do is so cute. I can't wait to see the chair done. AND, those feet are so cute. I love baby shoes!

  24. Free!!! Yes indeed lady bug... yes indeed.... oh my what cute little shoes to boot~

  25. Milk glass is the stuff you're referring to up front there. I collect that. I got a great deal at a tag sale this year as well. It was $5 for a butt load of it. I was too excited. I'd have paid that for one piece at another tag sale let alone the 22 pieces that i got. Someone pricing the stuff didn't know it's value. I couldn't believe i got all of what i did for 5 buxx.

  30. I can't believe no one would pay 5 bucks for those plates. I missed that free market. I was out of town once again.
I have to say I like the 70's butterflies, but I am looking forward to seeing what fabric you use to re-do the chair.
I saw those little shoesies too. very cute. Addison's little baby leg is cute too.

  33. I love the ironstone and Addison's shoes. I must go to Walmart to see if they have any in my 3 year old's size!

  34. I can't believe you got ironstone and those red plates and milk glass at the church swap!! That is un-freaking believeable!! I brought home a bunch of stuff from ours, but nothing like that! Ilove those red plates too.
I think ticking would look great on your chair, or linen, although maybe not practical with the kids, so you could always go with a canvas. I think it's smart to do neutral upholstery and then you can add and change out pillows to dress it up and give it color.
