{ A Blissful 600 Count Bargain }

I happened to be shopping at Wal-Mart a while back, I know, I know it's Wal-Mart but frankly it's all we have in the teeny tiny town and I'm grateful for it's presence at times & sometimes they have some pretty great stuff... Sometimes....
Anywho, I was checking out the clearance section because I'm a girl who LOVES a bargain and I found these little lovelies sitting on the shelf right next to the Hanna Montana sheets (gag). When I first saw the $30.00 price tag I winced (enter cheap here) but then I looked up and there it was, a paper stating that all clearance was an additional 50% off!! Yes I got 600 thread count sheets for $15.00 smackers!!
Of course they went right into my cart and let me tell you something, these babies may not be Ralph Lauren but oh baby!! It's like sleeping in one of those 5 star Hotel beds. These are oh so soft and they get better everytime I wash them. So the next time you are in the store and you see discounted 600 count throw them in your cart
I promise you will thank me later. :)

Have a FABULOUS WEEKEND!!!

PS. After re-reading this post, I'm afraid my friends that I may I have hit an all new blogging low as I have officially blogged about sheets & sheets alone....
Please don't leave me.. :)

{ i CAN craft }

I STILL HAVE THE ABILITY TO CRAFT!!
And here I thought it was long gone.... :)

My girlies and I went to the cutest little cupcake birthday party on Monday and I had bought a Dress up Tutu as the gift, but then decided around 10:00 p.m. that she needed a little something else.

 So me being the 11th hr type of gal that I am, asked my husband if he would cut me some blocks and he against his better judgement
(knowing I would be up till the wee hours in the morning) did just that!
Here is the final result.

  I love them and have been requested to make a couple more for my girls room.
Here is what I did:

1. Painted the blocks white.
2. Hit them with the sander on all edges.
3. Cut out some cute scrappin' paper.
4. Used mod podge to paste the paper to the blocks.
5. Used my Cricut & Sure Cuts Alot to cut out the letters.
6. Inked edges of letters (just a little bit).
7. Mod Podge the letters onto the blocks.
8. Wiped some stain on the edges that I sanded.

 DONE!

Cost......
Free!!
I had all the stuff already on hand and the blocks were made from leftover wood.

Note: I meant to wrap one of the letters with ribbon and tie a bow. But it was late and I forgot, sorry Tayler I will bring you ribbon another day. :)

{ Before & After }

I bought this cute little item at a local but very "short lived" craft store that we had here in our town.
(crafts stores around here seem to have a shelf life like a gallon of milk, they never last long)
I love that I can keep some of my small stuff organized but still within the kids reach & the items inside change all the time.
 It's one of the things that's allowed on the counter top in my kitchen along side my toaster and sugar/flour containers.
I loved it when I bought it but hated the "wood look" yes I'm a paint lover, not so much with the stain.
So I gave her a quickie makeover by painting it white and sanding down the edges. I need to go back and do a little more sanding but I have to say that  I love it so much more now that's she's all pretty & white.
I am so glad to finally check this project off my mile long list of things to do!!
Do you have a quick makeover project that you are working on?

{ Mr. & Mrs. Nutt }

Yes, here are a couple of Nutt's!
I can say that as I'm family and am holding their photo's hostage. ;)
I took these when we went to Levi & Brit's wedding in December which by the way was FREEZING,
but we persevered and got some good shots!
Congrats to the Newlyweds we couldn't be happier for them!

I still have a few more to finish editing so I better get back to work!

{ 13 on the 13th! }

A HUGE HAPPY BIRTHDAY
to our firstborn!
He's pretty excited to finally be a teenager, and we are so proud of him. He's an excellent big brother, an awesome helper and is quite the comedian.
We love having him in our family.
What he wishes for today is:

1. To grow 2 inches taller
2. Some PS3 Games
3. His own room
4. iTunes Gift Card
5. New Jeans from JC Penney

I do believe having a teenager makes me officially O.L.D. & it must be true as I just got an email this morning from AARP asking me to Renew my membership......  Nice huh?

Have a Fabulous Thursday!

{ Work Widow }

I am officially a work widow this week, the mister is sitting in the Boise Airport waiting for his flight to take him to Dallas Texas where he gets to stay at the Gaylord Texan and do "work related stuff" for the week.
Yes it must be rough... :)
So I will be a single mom to 5 this week, well until late Saturday night. The kids and I get to celebrate Jentry's 13th birthday on Thursday and then Miss Brinley turns 9 on Sunday.
Needless to say it's going to be a busy week and after this is all over I may need a getaway of my own.
Wish me luck, I just may need it.

{ Friends }

I just have to say how much
I LOVE MY FRIENDS!
One of my fabulous friends brought me these lovely flowers yesterday to help cheer me up as my week went to pot on Monday.
Thank you to my friends (you know who you are) for being a sounding board & a shoulder to lean on when I need a little extra support and for all your advice.
You guys truly are awesome & I couldn't ask for better friends!

{ Simplify }

SIMPLIFY
It's my word for this upcoming year.
We had a more "simple" Christmas & New Years eve where we didn't have 150 places to be and things to do, we just stayed home and enjoyed being with each other.
 and now I'm starting to simplify my home and it's starting in the living room.
I've did some major spring cleaning and furniture moving on the 1st and this is what I have so far.
A Fresh & Simple living room.
Now it's onto the rest of the house, we need to finish all our unfinished projects, & even make a few furniture pieces to help clear up some clutter.
When you have an old farmhouse with no closets, storage can be interesting at times.

Yeah, it's time to Simplify and I am ready....

What's your word for the year?
