{ Farmhouse Bed Part 2 ~ Knock Off Wood }

I promised I would post about the famous -Knock Off Wood- Farmhouse bed after she was all painted and here I am ready to deliver!
We love how this bed turned out so stinking much. We altered the plan a little and used Crown Molding on the headboard instead of a 2x6.
I do love me some crown molding....

Have I mentioned how much I love Ana's Blog and all the plans she has available? Seriously this gal has some mad wood skills. If you haven't checked out her site you really should, she has so many fabulous furniture plans available & all of them come with shopping lists. She takes the guess work out of woodworking!

I think some new bunk beds will be in our kids future, well that and more furniture for the Homestead!
Thank you Ana!!

  2. I love this website too! She has the most amazing furniture. You did a great job on the bed. I'm very impressed! I have a few projects of my own to do from her site when the weather warms up and we can work in the garage. How do you print off her plans though? It never lets me. We don't have a laptop so I can't just sit it by me as I work, nor would I want all that dust getting on/in it.

  21. Rachel-
    Your bed is amazing! I'm trying to talk my husband into making one for us. We've never had a real bed before- just a matress and box spring. I like your version with the crown molding even more. Also, I was wondering what your paint color on the wall is. We are about to move and I have to decide on a whole house full of paint colors. I'm a little stressed about it!!

  25. Your bed is beautiful! I like it better than Ana's original (sorry Ana). Would you be willing to share the specifics on changes you made? The footboard also looks different than hers, and I'm thinking the headboard is taller too. Please share! Thanks

  26. LOVE it! I just have one kind of silly question... How do you make the stars stay up there, so they don't fall of and hit you on the head every time the bed moves? Maybe that is TMI but are they nailed to the wall or anything because I love the look of them there, but I can't keep stuff on my head board.

  27. It turned out fantastic! If my brother is looking for a b-day gift for me I would take this but I just want it as a head board not the entire bed. He's got a few weeks to get it done. ;D Love it!

  28. I just love your blog, it is so crafty! You have it layed out so cool too. Almost too creative for the likes of me who has a hard time keeping up, It took me a few minutes to remember how to comment. I love the bed, it looks awesome. It looked good before you painted, but a well deserved pat on the back to yourself.
