{ A Busy Signal }

Yup, I feel like that's the signal I am giving out these day's as we have been B.U.S.Y.!
On Monday I sorted/purged through 11 yrs worth of kids clothes and we cleaned the storage shed & worked outside ALL DAY in the heat I'm talking from 9 am to 8 pm.
I have started to work on my Antique Radio cabinets but can't seem to find the time to get paint on them.
And when I feel like I have the time to paint, I am too tired to care. If only I had the energy my children have.

I promise that one of these day's I'll get back to blogging like a good girl but all kidding aside I feel like the regular blog posts won't happen until the kids are back in school. I will be doing cart wheels when that blessed day comes.
And speaking of school I (alone) am taking the kids Back to School shopping this weekend in Tri-Cities.
Yeah I know I'm border line crazy but I'm a mother with coupons and I'm not afraid to use them. :)

{ Pride & Prejudice a.k.a. Lost In Austen }

I found out about this movie from my Sis-in-law Lisa, she loved it and knew I would.
She was right, I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED.
If you're a Pride & Prejudice junkie like me then I'm pretty sure you will love this version as well. For those who haven't watched it here's a brief rundown:

Amanda Price is sick of the modern world. She yearns for the romance and elegance found in the books by her favorite author, Jane Austen. But she's about to get a rude awakening as one fateful evening, she is propelled into the scheming 19th century world of Pride and Prejudice while that book's Elizabeth Bennet is hurled into hers. As the book's familiar plot unfolds, Amanda triggers new romantic twists and turns within the Bennet family circle as she clumsily tries to help the sisters nab husbands and even captivates the tantalizing Mr. Darcy herself. But what about Elizabeth...and what will become of one of the world's greatest love stories?

I so loved how this movie was written. I ♥ the humor they used, the actors were fantastic. I even loved that it was almost 3 hrs long.
I would have to give Lost In Austen a big THUMBS UP!

I had to rent my movie from Netflix as our local Blockbuster had never even heard of it. I feel an Amazon purchase coming on. :)

Now go forth and RENT!

{ Bargain? Why Yes Please! }

Our neighbor's had a yard sale 2 weekends ago and this is what I brought home. I think some spray paint will make these look awesome! I also walked out with LOADS of old rick rack and a BUNCH of craft stuff.

From the same sale I got these 3 antique radio cabinets, I have plans for 2 of them for sure. I paid $20 bucks for EVERYTHING.

Also at a different yard sale (same day) I found a microwave range hood for 20 bucks! I have been looking for one of these for a while and you can't beat that kind of deal. I was prepared to go to Sears and spend a whole lot more than that. I love a good yard sale. ;)

{ Photoshop Rocks }

I took this ''in car'' picture a couple days ago while running errands with the fam. While I loved this shot of Addison because I think the lighting was just plain cool I did not however love the messy little face she was sporting
(ya gotta love snacks in the car)
Before:
So I whipped out my CS3 and in about 5 minutes time came up with the following

After:
I am so in love with the shadows and the play of light in this photo. But I have to confess that I still have no idea what I'm doing (well not totally) but it sure is fun playing right? :) I know there is someone out there that can make this photo really scream but for now, my sad little attempt will have to do.

Canon EOS 50D
Shutter Speed 1/125
F stop: f/5.6
ISO 640

Do these terms mean anything to me?
Kinda...

Sigh.... I have so much more to learn.....

PS. Date night with Jentry was so much fun & Harry Potter 6 was pretty darn good, I can't wait for the next 2 movies to come out. Yes #7 is being split into 2 movies. The first half being released in November of 2010 & the second half released in July of 2011.

{ Heaven }

This is where I spent my time over this past weekend. They are in the middle of a major remodel but when it's done it's going to be oh so pretty!
Here is the before

And here are a few of the in between

And guess what the hubby and I decided today?
We are going to back to this house by the lake TOMORROW!!
What a better way to spend the holiday's than with your family and friends. I feel kinda weird returning after only coming home from there 4 days ago but I'm sure I'll get over it.

{ Ice Road Brothers }

A couple of my older brothers were on Ice Road Truckers last Sunday night!
The same episode will be playing again tomorrow JULY 1st at 10:00 pm on the History channel.
First you will see my brother Richard Merrill at the scene of an accident and how he helped get the injured trucker to medical help.
Who knew my brother was a hero! :)
Then just a little while after that my other brother Daverle is seen driving his truck past Jack & Lisa. It's the part where Lisa can't get her brakes to work. It's the purple truck with some construction equipment on the back. I think you see him twice. It was pretty cool to see my Alaskan brothers on TV even if it was only for a short bit.
Don't forget, if you want to watch it the History channel is replaying it again tomorrow on the 1st of July at 10:00 pm- so go set your DVR!
Way to go guys I love ya!
Oh and I had a stinking BLAST at my getaway this past weekend! There is nothing like hanging out with your best girlfriends (making a couple new awesome friends) and having a good time. I'll post more on that later.

{ I’m Up To My Eye Balls }

In Pressed Peonies, But I don’t think I would have it any other way! Sorry that I’ve been a bit M.I.A. I have been trying to get ready for my Kid Free Retreat and filling numerous Etsy orders has kept me busy, well those things and the 5 kids running a muck through my house. Plus my Brother David & his family are coming from Utah to stay the night with us tonight.

If you want to make your own fabric flowers I use
You can change up how the flower looks with your pleating.

I will be driving to Hayden Idaho on Thursday where I get to hang with my AWESOME Gal Pals and we are going to:

1.Eat at a real Restaurant that doesn’t offer a happy meal – AKA The Olive Garden.
2. Shop at a fun Scrapbook store.
3. Scrap until our eyeballs fall out or we run out of adhesive (which ever comes first)
4. Stay up till the wee hours in the morning laughing so hard that our sides hurt, thanks to some DVD’s I like to call FRIENDS.
5. Drink far too many of my Specialty Dr.Pepper cream drinks.
6. Maybe do a little Kayaking on Hauser Lake.
7. Just simply have a FABULOUS TIME!

It’s going to be a great weekend. And even though I am looking forward to some serious kid free time I know I’m going to miss my kiddo's faces.
But don’t tell my husband that. ;)

{ Father’s Day Gift Idea }

1 Box of Whoppers and some paper =
I have been ‘trying’ to get these done for the last 4 days but finally found some time today to get them put together. I should have done them when I found the ideas earlier this month. Oh well at least I got them done right? (I made 3: one for Dad & two for G-pa’s)
They only take about 15 minutes, so if you have a box of Whoppers, some scrapbook paper/cardstock & the time to watch a short video tutorial then you can make this quick and cute little gift. If I can do it anyone can. :)
The Whopper box idea I got from this Blog and the Shirt & Tie Tutorial from this BlogI just combined the 2 together.
Don’t know if this will help or not but here are my paper measurements for the Box O’ Whoppers:
*Tan Cardstock: This is the paper that says Happy Fathers Day DAD, this paper I ran through the printer: 8 1/4 x 3 inches (cut 2)
*Green Cardstock: 5 1/2 x 12 you may have to add a little sliver in the back I did but that’s no biggie.
*Plaid Paper: 4 1/2 x 8 1/4 I just butted up the edges of the plaid paper that wraps around the box to the shirt paper.
Clear as mud? Good :)
Paper Shirt & Tie Video Tutorial found here.
Have a Super Fabulous Father’s Day Weekend!
