5 Months Today!

She's not feeling well so I didn't get a "photo shoot" of her in all her 5 month old glory, so this will have to do until she is feeling a little more peppy.
I hope she feels better soon.

Her New Hair!

I have been thinking about getting Brinley's hair cut for the past 3 months and I decided that I would take the plunge and cut off her thin little locks. This a-line bob is the cut that I was going for and it does make her hair look thicker. She loves it and so do I. Should make for doing her hair in the morning easier. I will miss her big ol' hair bows though. I'll still find a way to use them.
It does look better in person. The camera just doesn't give you the full effect.

Shhh Don't Tell But

I gave Addison (pre-sickness) some rice cereal. Her pediatrician wanted me to wait until she was 6 months old to introduce any form of regular food, but I caved and "tried" her on cereal just to see how she would do. It was only about an 1/8th of a cup and she didn't even eat it all. You know how it goes, you give the same spoonful of food about 10 times. She also gave me the food shudder, all you mom's out there know what I am talking about.. So funny to watch. Oh well at least I tried. OK, my break is over Addison is calling my name in her most pathetic sick voice.

We've Got The ICK!

So the nasty cold bug has made it's way to our house yet again. Seeing that it already did it's job a while back on the top 3 kids, it figured it was time to take up residence in Corbin and Addison. They both sound terrible, I say this because I'm pretty sure they are both going to cough up a lung anytime now, and the crappy thing is there's really not much I can do for Addison but hold her and wipe her nose and give both her and Corbin breathing treatments. I'm pretty sure that Addison has Spidey Sense because she only cries if I start doing dishes, make food, do laundry or basically whenever I try and do ANYTHING. Maybe she's crying because she feels sorry for me and all that I have to do. Yeah right..
The only good thing to come out of this cold is Addison seems to like her pacifier more, it must be a comfort thing. I'll be looking forward to this cold moving out then I can pay more attention to my house, it looks terrible and my clothes will no longer have snot streaks on them. I know, I know, it's gross but it's my life. Are ya feeling sorry for me yet? :)
To make our/my suffering seem even longer, we have gotten more snow today. I swear if I see more white stuff falling from the sky I'm going to go stark raving mad. I'm sick of this cold weather, I want some warm sunshine and to be able to send my kids outside NOT bundled up like the abominable snowman.
Okay I'm stepping off my soap box now.

Have You Heard The Who?

Well I was going to take the kids to see this little movie today, but Corbin has been nasty sick and now Addison has what he has--cough, congestion, you name it the smallish people are not doing well around here. So, I have talked my lovely husband into taking the 3 older kids tomorrow. I hope they have a good time. Has anyone out there watched this movie? Is it any good?

{ Quilts & Captain Moroni }

I have been trying for a while to find a "cute" and I use the word "cute" lightly as we are talking about a boys room, a "cute boy" quilt so I can make the Boy's bedroom look a little nicer. So while shopping at my mom's neighborhood Wal-Mart I ran across this Camo Quilt.

I knew the boys would love it and of course they didn't have the twin size I needed so, on our way out of town we stopped at another Wal-Mart and they of course had it, but they only had one so I nabbed it.

I have to say I love this quilt in their bedroom. It goes great with their green walls and black bunk bed (that I still need to finish painting) I have to get at least 2 more of these quilts and then we should be good. Thanks Mom for being on the lookout for these. Our local store doesn't carry these (go figure).
They even had a cute patchwork girls set (so totally spring) that I would put in Brinley's room, but seeing as she is pretty much set on bedroom linen decor I had better focus on the boys and then my sights onto our room.
And speaking of our room Wally' s also had some new quilt sets that I would use on our bed. If ya haven't checked out the new spring stuff there you should. This stuff I would have thought one could only find at a Target.

After the quilting of Parker's bed, I told Lloyd that he needed to hang the Captain Moroni picture that my mom had given the boys for one of their birthdays. And this picture is so cool The left picture is of course the painting of Captain Moroni and the right picture is my brother David. He was asked last summer I believe at the last minute to be Captain Moroni in a big Pageant they were having in Spanish Fork. He fit's the bill pretty darn well as he is Mr. Muscle. I wished we could have been there to see him wheeled in on his Chariot.
A funny story to go along with this. Someone there was so impressed with him in his Moroni getup that he was asked to speak at a Priesthood meeting. Lets just say he was the only one NOT wearing a suit. There he was at the pulpit in his Captain Moroni costume feeling a little "exposed". He said it was such an awesome experience. Anyway thought it was cool, and I would share.

Sorry the above pictures are terrible, the next 3 pictures tell you why.
You have got to love this Oregon Weather & this is all in the span of about 30 minutes. I say Mother Nature is going through Menopause!!!
Happy Spring Break to us!!

A Little Crafty Cuteness

I thought I would post real quick to show that I have been crafty in my past life. I made this pillow for my mom while I was in Utah watching my brother's kids while they went on a cruise (she watched my 2 boys while I was gone) I made this baby WITHOUT scissors. I think it turned out rather well. Considering I used my teeth for cutting thread and ripped the fabric to make the pillow. She is ALWAYS helping us when we need her and and so I thought this pillow was the perfect way to say thank you to my super mom.

And speaking of my mom, she found this C.U.T.E. egg tree at Safeway of all places, and of course they don't have any more at hers and our Safeway never did get any in. IF ANYONE OUT THERE SEE THIS OR TWO OF THEM. Pick it up and I will so send you some moolah! And I totally mean that. I think this baby is so stinking cute. I must find one somewhere.

Okay, I think I should go and finish finding my house. My car yet again threw up in our house. It does this after every trip. So off I go to clean, do laundry and have fun with the kiddies. It's spring break around here and I am bound to find something fun for them to do. Even if it means going to the park in this lovely cold weather. Gasp!

Scenes From Easter

So I didn't get ANY pictures of the kids in their Easter best. I will so be getting the Bad Mom award this year. We had a crazy 24 hrs while we were in Tri-Cities, we ended up coming home late last night and getting to bed sometime early this morning. There was a lot of trading beds and so forth ( I'll explain later). So anyway. I will post more later but thought I would throw on the few pics that I had. Hope everyone had a great Easter holiday.

So while to boys are sucking exhaust fumes from overly large trucks, Brinely & Addison my Mom and I will be shopping. It should be a fun fast trip. Well I better get back to packing Lloyd will be home in 2 hrs and I am not even remotely ready. Hope everyone has a great Easter Sunday!

Opps! I Did It Again & Again....

Yup I tried my hand at quilting yet again & may I add not too successfully either. This block for some reason or another DID NOT LIKE ME. The seam ripper and I became one, as I kept sewing my triangles on the wrong way. But I persevered and finished the dang thing. I can see this little sampler quilt in my head and in there it's pretty dang cute. Then I look at all the blocks I have finished and I'm not so sure of her survival rate. As of right now she's in ICU and may need staples to keep her together when she is finished. I'll keep you posted and let you know of any change. :)
On another note, as you may have noticed I have yet again changed the look & name of my blog. I am really just trying to find something that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE and will keep for a while. Who knew "trying" to change the look of ones blog would be this hard. Do I leave paper on the sides and white in the middle? Do I go all white & just have my header at the top? (thank goodness for my tester blog) Sigh.....Anyway, I apologize for changing it so often. One of these days I will get it right. A friend of mine told me that if I keep this blog name of "Made with love and glue" I had better get busy and post more of my crafty self. So if I get to where you haven't seen a craft pouring out of me for some time, just yell at me and I'll try to get busy again. Well, duty calls in the form of smallish people.

It's Addison's Turn

OK, I did a little photo spotlight of Jentry earlier this week and I am going to do the rest of the kids this week, I hope. Here are Addison's, they didn't turn out that great but there is just something I love about them. Alright now I'm going to go try and be crafty. I'll post it if it turns out. ;)

Love her little Elvis lip..

I Am Still Alive

I know some of you are wondering where the heck is she? I really have just not had much to say lately. Plus, I wasn't about to post more boring stuff about me or my kids just to post something for the day, not only do I think it's boring but you may think so as well. So I have been waiting for something interesting to post about & here it is.
My latest and greatest quilt blocks!
These didn't turn out perfect, but heck I'm surprised they turned out at all. Melissa's for some reason always turn out better than mine. And Melissa is like the quilt block queen, I have never watched anyone punch out these blocks as fast as she does. She has a secret I just know it... :) Maybe if I didn't sit and talk/goof off so much I would get some done faster too. Hmm.. it's a thought.
We are getting close to the end of this class & it has been fun getting out of the house for 2 hrs every Tuesday and spending time with friends. Nothing like some away time from the kiddos to help recharge your batteries.

Okay I know this really wasn't that interesting, but I was getting guff from a couple of friends for not posting. Sorry I'll try to be better.... Really.

The Anniversary Of Our Big Surprise!

It is exactly 1 year ago today that I found out I was pregnant with Addison. And talk about a shock. Lloyd and I had tossed around the idea of another baby after Corbin's arrival, we thought he was the last. but after bringing him home we both know otherwise, but had decided to take the wait and see how we feel as he got older approach.
Well I think someone else had other plans for us....
(Keep in mind at this time I was in the middle of a not so good depression so having a baby for me was so completely not in the cards).
Anyway, I had a dream the night before that I knew, I just knew I was pregnant & I was up at one of our local nursing home (don’t ask me why) trying to get them to let me use their bathroom so I could pee on the pregnant test. They wouldn’t let me use their facilities, so I went to the house next door (yes still weird) and they wouldn’t let me either. But in my dream I JUST KNEW I WAS Pregnant AND IT WAS A GIRL. Anyhow I wake up from this dream thinking WOW that was SO WEIRD.

I told my friend Bridget in our daily conversation about my strange dream and I think we just laughed it off. Well later that day I happen to go to the Dollar Tree to pick up some pencils and such for the kids & as I was getting ready to go check out I happened to walk by the pregnancy tests. Now really to this day I have know idea why I picked one up because I knew there was no way I could be preggers as we were using birth control. But I bought the test anyway thinking ehh who cares it’s only a buck.
Well I take it home and take it later that day and wouldn’t you know it 2 lines appear.
Okay I am thinking NO FREAKING WAY this is a dollar tree test it must be wrong, so I call Bridget back and ask what her success rate has been with these cheap tests. And she said that they didn’t work for her either. So I figured it’s just a cheap test that gives wrong results, but better be safe then sorry and go to Wal-Mart and buy a real test.
Fast forward to that evening- Lloyd comes home and is “trying” to be flirty I proceed to tell him that he MAY have done enough damage already. The look on his face was priceless. So I take him to the bathroom and show him the cheap test and he said are you going to Wal-Mart to get a real test and I said is the Pope Catholic? I’m pretty sure that I didn’t eat dinner, I just ran to the store & bought a 3 pack of EPT tests. I came home and waited until the kids were in bed and had a moment to myself.
Then on March 6th at 9:50 p.m I saw the test with 2 yes 2 lines (& yes I looked at the time and wrote it on my calendar). I kinda freaked out just a little bit at this point and I took the stick and stood in front of my sleeping on the couch husband and proceeded to shake him and put that test as close to his eyeballs as possible and said, HOW DID THIS HAPPEN!?! Seriously! We were preventing children, not opening the door to the house and saying come on in! He woke up fast, saw the results and said take one in the morning and see if it’s different. Well we all know that it’s not going to change. What are they odds you get 2 false positives. So I had 4 tests as of the morning of the 7th all telling me all the same thing I was pregnant with our 5th child.
Fast forward a month. I had at this point my first Dr. Appointment on my birthday no less. Nothing like have a pap smear, a breast exam and an ultrasound on your birthday, talk about memorable. And I came home with the ultrasound picture and put it away. I was so in denial. It’s not just a state of mind, IT IS a place.

Anyway I eventually came around to the baby idea, say around June when I finally post the above ultrasound on my blog andI have to say I COULDN'T GIVE THIS LITTLE GIRL UP TO SAVE MY LIFE. I am so grateful she is here. WE LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her. We know she was suppose to come to our house and am very glad that Heavenly Father sent her when he did. Even though at the time I thought he had a terrible sense of humor.I think she was just what I needed at the moment, my depression never
got any worse as the Dr. thought it might especially after giving birth. I've
for the most part been Stable Mable.

Phew, there is the story of how I found out I
was having our little girl. I had to write it out for posterity purposes,
hopefully she won't look back and think she was not wanted because she so IS!
Even the bigger kids say we like her more, because I post more on my blog about
her. Well that’s not the case she is just changing more than they are at this
point in her life. And speaking of change she is little Miss Mobile now. She was
rolling from back to front all day as of yesterday. Crazy how fast they grow up. She is such a happy & fun baby too, she always has a smile on her face.
Addison We Love You! How could you not, just look at that little face! :)

{ Little Miss Update }

Addison had her Dr. appt yesterday afternoon and I know some of you were interested to know how much she weighs now. Well she is up to 14 pounds which puts her in the 60th percentile and her height is 26 inches which puts her in the 95th percentile. Which also explains her need for 6-12 months pants.
She is just long and lean.

Another of my children has been very helpful lately without being asked. Mr. Jentry, last night as I was trying to get dinner ready so he cleaned off the table, helped grate the cheese and then proceeded to set the table and just be all around helpful.

Not sure where that is coming from because usually we have to tell the kids to help. So I'll take it and am grateful for such a good boy.

Another miracle although some wouldn't think it. Parker is not a lover of the homework, and whenever we ask him to work on his homework packet, a severe fit is the result and an unhappy 7 year old does his work but with a very BAD attitude. Well yesterday I sat down with him and he did his whole packet which is 6 pages front and back in no time at all. And he was happy about it. So You could say that yesterday was an all around good day kid wise.

Happy Birthday Melissa!

Happy Birthday Melissa! Hope your day is a great one!

4 Months

Yup it's happened again she's still aging.
Lucky girl gets to go to the Dr's tomorrow for shots and her check up, she's going to love that. And she is SOOOOO close to rolling over it's not even funny. I'm not ready for mobile baby yet. She just needs to move her little arm and Wha La' she would have it. She is constantly chewing on pretty much everything, I am pretty sure she is going to have some teeth coming through pretty soon. And of course when she talks/coo's it's so darn cute and yes the heavens part and the music swells, all that good stuff. She's the best!
